Summary
A leading marine/dredging company is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of business contracts, including customer contracts, subcontracts, master service agreements, and charter agreements (manned and bareboat). This role ensures compliance, mitigates risks, and maintains contract renewals and extensions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full contracting process from initial fact-checking (scope, schedule, pricing) to final execution or termination.
- Review, red-line, and negotiate contract terms within company guidelines to mitigate risk in construction and dredging contracts.
- Prepare and review contracts for subcontractors and third-party entities in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in resolving contract-related disputes and issues.
- Provide active contract management and strategy support to project teams before change orders.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management team to align company and customer insurance requirements with vendors and subcontractors.
- Communicate contract status updates and address concerns with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze contract solicitations, special provisions, terms, and conditions for compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Guide negotiation strategies and participate in complex contractual discussions.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting contracts and business objectives.
- Offer guidance to business departments on contract-related matters.
- Develop and implement new contract policies and processes.
- Maintain organized contract records and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
- 3 years of experience in dredging and/or the maritime industry.
- 5 years of experience in contract negotiation (preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial and analytical issues, including profit and loss implications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts efficiently.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions in an office environment with occasional site visits as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
