What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Customer Service Attendant - Golf Learning Center position at Peoria Park District?
Duties: Under the supervision of the Director of Golf Operations, the Golf Customer Service Attendant will be responsible for:
- Assuming responsibility for customer service including excellent telephone manners.
- Keeping merchandise and displays clean, neat, and orderly.
- Assuming responsibility for point-of-sale transactions including checking golfers in and out for their scheduled tee time.
- Assuming responsibility for cash/credit card transactions in point-of-sale system while on duty.
- Maintaining the accuracy and credibility of reserved time starting sheets and reservations.
- Directing golf car maintenance concerns to the Director of Golf Operations.
- Maintaining order and control of the 1st and 10th tees while being alert to all activity in the tee areas.
- Being especially watchful for new players and/or visiting golfers to ensure that they will not be overlooked because of their lack of understanding of our procedures.
- Ensuring play on the course proceeds in a manner that mirrors starting times on the first tee.
- Continually monitoring the golf course and educating players on the many ways wasting time can be avoided.
- Eliminating excessively long playing time.
- Ensuring that the course regulations are observed.
- Helping players understand the specific local rules, and deal with any emergencies that may arise.
- Being available to work weekends and holidays.
- Lifting, refilling, and replacing water coolers throughout the golf course.
- Emptying trash cans on the course when needed.
- Responsible for all areas covered in the operations manual for the golf course.
- Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supporting all aspects of the Peoria Park Districts safety program.
- Report any vandalism, unusual condition, emergency situation, or incident to the Director of Golf Operations.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and stoop.
- Ability to drive and park golf cars to and from storage area.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Must be 16 years of age or older.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to represent the Peoria Park District and ensure that the Districts policies are followed in a firm, friendly and totally impartial manner.
- Ability to work harmoniously with Peoria Park District personnel and to deal effectively with the public.
- Ability to operate a telephone, cash register, and computer.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
