Job Summary :
The position of Door Hardware Assistant is based at the FAC Hardware Shop and works under supervision of the Door Hardware Technician. Performs lock repairs, lockset installations, alterations and repairs to doors and hardware at the various school sites and administration facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned :
- Performs lock repair, lock set installations, alterations and repairs and other maintenance duties under the direction of a supervisor / administrator
- Assists in maintaining and ordering an inventory of supplies needed to perform the jobs at various school sites
- Operates a variety of power tools and equipment
- Maintains records and files for jobs performed
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A high school diploma or GED AND 2 years of experience in the installation and repair of door locks OR any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
