What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communication Corrections Officer -Female position at Pepin County?
Applications are now being accepted for one female Communication/Corrections Officer. This is a sworn position.
The primary job duties of the Communication/Corrections officer has two sets of duties. The Corrections Officer maintains the security and safety of the Pepin County Jail and its inmates and provides for their needs. The Communications Officer provides central dispatching of all emergency services (i.e., police, fire, ambulance, and human service providers) for the entire county and surrounding area. This job requires the ability to function properly in high stress situations, follow established procedures, and maintain appropriate records of all actions.
Qualifications include: U.S. Citizenship, minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. Post high school education is desirable. Must complete the following certification requirements; LESB Jailer Certification, Time I & II certification. Must also maintain appropriate 24-hour annual re-certification requirements. Must have a valid Wisconsindriver’s license. Basic computer literacy.
The starting wage rate for 2024 is $22.00 with increases to a four-year leave of $27.01 per hour. This position will normally be scheduled in 12 hour shifts and includes a full benefit package including: health, life, dental, vision, disability, cancer, critical illness and accident insurances, income continuation insurance and Protective Status in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Paid time off includes vacation and sick time and 10 paid holidays.
