Purchasing Agent
Pepper Source, Ltd. is seeking a Purchasing Agent for our Van Buren, AR, facility!
Summary
Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of raw good materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for ordering/maintaining inventory.
- Unread Emails, daily these need to be assigned to PO’s.
- Monitor the outside warehouse inventory and enter transfer PO’s in a timely manner.
- Read ALL confirmations and record indicated changes as required.
- Enter in price changes through our Global system.
- Work with Logistics to ensure Truck Trips are released in a timely manner.
- Monitor tank appointments.
- Receive trucks/POs/monitor receiving reports.
- Credit issues.
- Damage issues, email the vendor as necessary as well as emailing AP for freight claim issues.
- Enter all SCAR’s and follow up with the vendor as necessary.
- Update Insurance certificates monthly.
- Back up to Freight Logistics position.
- Monitor the Long Raw Good Report to see if we need to reach out vendor to cancel PO’s before arrival.
- Work with Customer Service, Sales and other member of Purchasing to source new raw goods or vendor as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of purchasing practices, supply chain management, market research, and data analysis.
- Firm understanding of LTL/TL/NDA/Ground and basic freight terms.
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve processes.
Preferred Skills
- Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Analytical with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Multi-tasker adept in managing time, meeting deadlines, and learning new tasks.
- Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
