Looking for experienced DSP's to join our team!
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including assisted living facilities and memory care units. This position requires a commitment to fostering independence and promoting dignity for the individuals you serve. Peralta LLC is a new provider of I/DD Supported Living and Diversion services in Spokane County. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a rewarding and challenging environment, gain new skills, earn a living wage, with limitless opportunities to grow with the organization. Experience and passion for working with individuals who experience challenging behaviors is preferred. Trial wage is $22.50 an hour, but we will pay for experience up to $25 an hour! We just opened in February and are looking to hire with positions starting throughout March! Come grow with us!
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year experience in the I/DD field.
- 40 hour CORE/75 hour Certificate
- NAR/ Nurse Delegation CORE
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Support clients in developing life skills through engaging activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of individuals in your care.
- Implement individualized care plans and monitor progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of clients during transfers or mobility assistance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all residents.
Skills
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is essential.
- Proficiency in meal preparation and cooking skills to ensure nutritious meals are provided.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and memory care techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client support.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards assisting individuals with autism and other special needs is crucial for success in this role.
