Direct Support Professional

We seek a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team for awake night shifts (11pm-7am or 7pm-7am). We are also seeking swing shifts (3 pm-11 pm). In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity. You will work closely with individuals to assist them in daily living activities and promote their independence while adhering to their rights and preferences.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide individual observations to monitor health status and report any changes or concerns.
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with individual rights and safety protocols.
• Engage individuals in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for individual safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals by following hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Foster positive relationships with people we support while respecting their needs and preferences.

Experience

• Previous experience in direct support roles or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
• Experience in providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities
• Strong communication skills and working collaboratively within a team setting are essential.
• A commitment to upholding individual rights and promoting dignity in care is crucial for success in this role.
