What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer position at Peraton?
We are hiring a Sr. Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
As an Azure Administrator/Engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape the Microsoft Azure Stack HCI solution by leading engineering and design efforts for the transition of on-premises server solutions to Azure Stack HCI.
What you'll do:
- The candidate will orchestrate the development of a system of interest (encompassing hardware and/or software) through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk/opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project.
- Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction; mentors and may supervise team members.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Education: 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. In lieu of degree, HS diploma & 12 years of related or military related experience acceptable.
- Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, including compute, network, storage, and backup principles in one or more of the following environments: Azure, AWS, Oracle, Google, or VMware Cloud solutions including administrator/architect level certifications.
- 5 years of experience in systems architecture in a distributed enterprise environment.
- 5 years of experience in cloud architectures and migrations specifically in an Azure environment.
- 5 years of Virtualization Technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience architecting and deploying Windows operating systems.
- Experience deploying IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS solutions with 5 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
- 5 years of experience working in large enterprise operations environments, including the identification, development, analysis, scheduling, and managing of enterprise IT activities, solutions and risk mitigations, artifacts, and migrations.
- Understanding of Microsoft’s Azure Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
- Clearance: DOD Secret Clearance.
- DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II Certification, (e.g. Security CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) in addition to Operating Environment (OE) certification for Microsoft Platforms/Solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
- Experience with enterprise server, storage, networking, software, and application services or equivalent depth in a single solution platform.
- Experience collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internally and externally to resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience supporting and coordinating across senior-level organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or Engineering.
- CASP or CISSP Certification.
- Microsoft Azure Certifications.
