Behavior Technician:
Perch is a behavioral health agency providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals, families, and education teams throughout the Puget Sound. We are an intentionally small practice with an acute focus on training, support, and mentorship for clinicians. Perch is known to provide high-quality services to those we serve and a respectful, collaborative, and enriching environment for our staff.
Perch is currently hiring Behavior Technicians (BTs) to work 1:1 and in small groups with learners in our Puget Sound community. This position is ideal for applicants seeking opportunities for experience in ABA or related fields, and for those already established in ABA and Special Education. Perch BTs will be dually licensed as Certified Behavior Technicians (CBT) through the Washington Department of Health and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Candidates should expect frequent contact with their BCBA supervisor(s) as Perch holds a strong emphasis on ensuring high-quality, consistent guidance to clinical staff at all levels and on welcoming transparent, open communication.
Initial and Ongoing Training (Provided by Perch):
- State required 40-hour training covering the fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis
- In-house 12-hour (3-day) training with Perch’s Training Manager
- BCBA-led individualized training for client-specific programs
- Safety Care Training (re-certification required annually)
- Completion of competency assessment to sit for the RBT exam (after approximately 6 months of employment)
- Quarterly all-staff clinical topic trainings
The Behavior Technician will:
- Provide 1:1 support as guided by an individualized service plan
- Provide services in the home, school, and/or community settings
- Collect data and communicate regularly with their supervisor regarding client progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Receive a minimum of weekly supervision and training from their BCBA supervisor(s) during client sessions
Qualifications:
- Prefer at least 2 years of college coursework in psychology, education, social services, or other related programs
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Previous ABA experience is a plus
Requirements:
- Reliable vehicle with valid and current proof of car insurance
- Eligible to work in the USA
- Pass background checks
- Available to work at least 10 hours/week at consistent times during the week
Location/Session Times:
- Renton / Monday-Thursday (4pm-6pm)
- West Seattle / Monday-Friday (4pm-6pm) / no Wednesday sessions
Compensation: Hourly rate $18-35
