What are the responsibilities and job description for the Awareness Advocate position at Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center?
Job Description: The Awareness Advocate will provide the following services:
Public Awareness and Victim Education- coordinate and provide outreach and education to community members, students, and professionals within a five county service area on the topic of child abuse. Education provided by the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center includes child abuse and center related awareness presentations, professional development trainings, and prevention education to children within schools.
On occasion assist in providing support services on-site to child victims and their families that are referred to the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in sociology, human services, social work, business or related field and two years of experience in a child welfare setting; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Demonstrated evidence of a team-oriented, professional mindset with the experience and ability to collaborate with other agencies. Ability to multitask and show attention to detail in a fast paced professional environment.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center: The Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center (CSC) exists to provide comprehensive community services to child victims of sexual abuse or other abuse as well as to their non-offending family members or caretakers. The CSC is committed to offering safety from trauma to victims of child abuse and neglect and to their family, while also providing advocacy and empowerment to prevent future victimization. The CSC provides a child-friendly environment for conducting forensic interviews, coordinating with treatment specialists concerning the goals of renewal, prevention, and education. The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under 501(c)(3) of the Internal revenue code. Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center is located in Arkadelphia, AR.
