Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized lead office administrator to join our pediatric therapy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling patients, collecting copays, ensuring accurate and timely submission of benefits, and prior authorizations. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial aspects of healthcare services while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and understand accurate medical terminology, medical practices, and specifically account receivable.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is included for billing purposes.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding benefits and prior authorizations.
- Process payments and adjustments to patient accounts as needed.
- Generate monthly statements for patients and assist with payment plans when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing-related issues efficiently.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance policies.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Previous experience as a medical office administrator is encouraged, but not required.
