Title : Development Engineering Manager
Position is Based : Charlotte, NC
Hybrid position : 3 days in office
Travel : 15%-25%
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic engineering leadership for utility-scale solar projects, ensuring effective modeling, construction, and interconnection strategies nationwide.
- Manage technical due diligence for project acquisitions, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated while supporting acquisition evaluations.
- Oversee cost estimation processes, contract frameworks, permitting pathways, interconnection strategies, and financial optimizations for solar projects.
- Leverage deep knowledge of renewable energy systems, interconnection protocols, and risk assessment to evaluate and refine project designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Finance, Marketing, Project Management & Construction (PMC), Supply Chain, and Health & Safety, to ensure project success.
- Manage external consultants across disciplines including site assessment, interconnection, permitting, legal reviews, and construction support.
- Develop accurate technical reports, recommendations, and project analyses to enhance the company’s competitive positioning.
- Deliver technical guidance and problem-solving expertise to address complex, high-impact challenges within corporate or industry-wide contexts.
- Lead complex engineering studies and disseminate findings to drive corporate advancements and establish best practices.
- This position will not manage a team but will manage the process.
