JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Development Engineering Manager to support one of our Renewable Energy companies. This position will be responsible for leading engineering and technical scope for greenfield and M&A solar projects. This role involves managing internal and external personnel to provide optimized plant designs, cost estimates, interconnection analysis, and schedules for utility-scale solar. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and commercial experience with utility-scale solar energy systems as well as a strong understanding of project estimating, project management, and utility interconnection.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering support for solar projects, including modeling, construction, and interconnection.
- Develop project plans, cost estimates, and schedules for utility-scale solar projects.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Oversee technical evaluation and due diligence for potential project acquisitions.
- Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering obtained from an ABET accredited program.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Need direct solar execution or construction experience
- Mid to late-stage development engineering experience
- Solar PV experience
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters or P.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil engineering is preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years of relevant work experience to include five years or more of energy industry experience, including more than two years of direct EPC experience in solar and/or energy storage projects.
- Experience managing projects from initial design through execution and into construction.
- Experience with early, mid, and late-stage project acquisition diligence.
- Understanding of project design and optimization tradeoffs, market trends, equipment suppliers, and costs.
- Familiarity with project financing and independent engineer requirements.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating EPC contracts and technical exhibits.
Salary : $140,000 - $145,000
