ArborTech is looking for the right person to join our fast-growing company as an operations Manager.
This is an aboriculture-centric job. Significant experience in the tree industry is required. Applicants who do not hold and can illustrate this experience will not be considered.
The Field Operations Manager has the primary role of assuring that we provide the best quality and service to our clients through maintaining ArborTech standards. They are responsible for the safety, logistics, and general people leadership aspects of field operations at ArborTech.
This role is generally a business and people leadership role, but an understanding and ability to assist in arboriculture services would be helpful to your success.

Some of the Operations Manager key responsibilities:
- Cooperate and Support management in the growth of ArborTech through advocacy and effort for our organization and team.
- Monitor KPIs and action plan to drive positive results based on data.
- Maintain the work schedule to assure sold work is completed in a timely manner.
- Lead a safety culture through training, auditing, and accountability.
- Schedule daily and weekly work cadence.
- Drive for logistical excellence and ensure our staff has the resources needed to complete their work.
- Proactively manage the fleet through cooperation with vendors and proper planning.
- Maintain inventory of required supplies and materials through just-in-time inventory practices.
- Check in with employees regularly to set expectations for each task based on contract specifications.
- Hold employees accountable to all ArborTech policies.
- Complete quality assurance checks on client properties each day to make sure the client expectations meet ArborTech standards.
- Travel between jobs to check on crews, assess work performance, and give additional instructions as needed.
- Be an exceptional representative for ArborTech by interacting with clients to assure their satisfaction.
- Identify potential crew leaders and work with the Director of Arbor Services and Human Resources to discuss career path and necessary training.
- Complete assessments for employees with the assistance of Director of Arbor Services & Crew Leaders
- Participate in snow removal operations.
- Lead weekly scheduling meetings.
- Schedule and facilitate weekly toolbox talks.
- Ensure employees are following all safety practices as outlined in the ArborTech safety program.
Ideal candidates for Field Operations Supervisors will have the following education or experience:
- Associate degree in business or management, OR 3 years in a leadership role within the arbor or a similar industry
- Holds ISA certification or can obtain within 2 years.
- Proven leadership and logistics management ability through work experience
- 5 years in the tree care or similar green industry.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- General agriculture knowledge to include species identification, hazards, and tree removals.
- The ability to schedule and maintain the logistics of up to 5 tree crews.
- General familiarity with applicable arboriculture equipment
- Ability to remain objective when handling client or employee concerns
- Creative problem solving

- Effectively work independently and within a team
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to follow and give directions effectively
- Ability to lead by example and practice 5 behavioral agreements
- Proficient in use of Aspire, Microsoft Office, GPS system
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently

- Good peripheral vision for driving

- Possess a valid driver's license
- Possess or can obtain a Med Card
- Have a clean driving record (no more than 9 points and no DWI/DUI on record in past 5 years – other factors may be taken into consideration when analyzing driver record)
