HR Analytics Consultant - Temp 4 Months - Hybrid in Berkeley, CA - $75/hour
Seeking a temporary Human Resources Analytics Consultant with extensive Cognos experience for an exciting opportunity at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful HR initiatives within a leading research environment.
In this key role, you will collaborate with HR, IT, and functional leaders to analyze employee-related issues and enhance processes in areas like employee attraction, performance, engagement, and retention. You will lead HR Analytics efforts, including data governance, reporting, predictive modeling, and workforce planning.
- Dates: 4/7/25 - 8/1/25, possibly longer
- Location: Hybrid in Berkeley, CA (2 days onsite per week)
- Commute/Parking: Parking pass provided or easy shuttle access from BART
- Background Check: Clear criminal background check required prior to starting
Responsibilities:
- Establish and direct the HR Analytics function at the Laboratory.
- Determine data needs and develop an HR Analytics strategy aligned with Lab goals.
- Collaborate with IT and HRIS for data access and manipulation.
- Partner with HR teams to analyze processes and drive improvements.
- Develop Workforce and People Analytics strategies that support Lab initiatives.
- Provide insights on key HR trends to Lab leadership.
- Communicate statistical analyses and their implications to varied audiences.
- Stay updated on trends in data analytics and HR reporting.
- Develop analytical models for areas like Diversity and Inclusion, Compensation, and Talent Management.
- Define performance metrics, scorecards, and KPIs to drive efficiency.
- Create forecasting models for strategic decision-making.
- Recommend industry best practices for HR Analytics development.
- Lead training programs on data analytics for staff.
- May manage or direct the work of team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in data analysis.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Cognos for report creation and design.
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM.
- Preferred: Experience with PeopleSoft 9.2 or similar ERP systems; familiarity with Tableau or Google Looker Studio.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent consultative and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
