AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers paid summer internships to students enrolled in full time undergraduate or graduate degree programs. As an AmeriHealth Caritas intern, you will learn about the health care industry, our Medicaid and Medicare Plans, Pharmacy Benefits Management and Behavioral Health — and how we are working to improve access to health care for all Americans. Required Eligibility Guidelines: Candidates must meet either of the following eligibility required guidelines to be considered for the AmeriHealth Caritas Internship program. .
- Candidates must be able to work a Hybrid schedule, which is 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.
- Candidates must be able to fully commit to the approximate 10-week internship program from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025.
Option 1:
- Candidates must be rising Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors by June 2, 2025, actively enrolled in a full-time undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college degree program, and majoring in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other applicable majors.
- Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.
Option 2:
- Candidates must be enrolled in a postgraduate program or professional school (e.g., a Master's program or a law program) by June 2, 2025.
- Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.
Responsibilities:
The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team oversees the financial processes that ensure timely and accurate payment for healthcare services. This includes capitation payments, maternity kick payments, claim reconciliation, and financial reporting. Our team plays a crucial role in optimizing cash flow and improving financial accuracy for the organization. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience in healthcare finance, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world revenue cycle operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the entry and submission of maternity kick payments and capitation payments
- Review financial processes and offer recommendations for efficiency improvements
- Support reconciliation of cash accounts and payments
- Collaborate with mentors to understand CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) implementation
- Collaborate with mentors and teams to understand CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) implementation.
- Develop the ability to process and reconcile payments, including maternity kick payments and capitation payments.
- Gain experience in reviewing financial workflows, identifying efficiencies, and suggesting process improvements.
Education & Experience:
- Activley enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and financial accuracy.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a focus on Excel for financial tracking and reporting.
- Engage in discussions and reporting efforts, applying strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Apply numeric aptitude to financial processes and payment reconciliation tasks.
- Work hands-on with financial data in platforms like Vizio to analyze trends and suggest improvements.
