About the role
The intern role will work closely with our branch staff to provide support in various areas of retail banking operations. This individual will rotate through multiple functions during their tenure to gather experience in banking. The ideal candidate should have a passion for learning about the banking industry and possess excellent communication skills.
This position is located in Sturgis, SD, and is not a remote position.
What you will do
- Conduct routine bank transactions within time limits and established guidelines (cash checks, accept deposits and loan payments, process withdrawals, etc).
- Evaluate Clients’ credit and financial statements to determine degree of risk involved in providing a loan.
- Prepare reports and present findings to make a recommendation on whether the loan should move forward.
- Confer with credit associations and references to gather credit information.
- Evaluate the financial status of applicants by producing financial ratios, trends, and cash flow analysis and create future projections.
- Routinely monitor loans to ensure they maintain compliance.
- Adhere to all company credit policies and guidelines established by the bank.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need
- Pursuing BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
- Experience analyzing customer credit preferred, but not required.
- Ability to analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
