Job Description
PCI is seeking an experienced Site Safety Representative for its PCI Chicago 573 operations based on an active construction jobsite in New Carlisle, Indiana. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel
Assist with the administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices
Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of plant site and corporation
Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
This position is safety sensitive. Please note, this role is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.
This is a full-time hourly position with benefits. Per diem is not offered.
Basic Requirements
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a construction safety role or a construction field leadership role with safety-adjacent responsibilities
Must have OSHA 30 certification
Must be at least 18 years old
Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
Must be proactive and self-accountable for timely completion of assigned tasks
Physically able to perform all assigned tasks, including walking multiple miles per day on site
Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently
Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
Preferred Requirements
Additional OSHA certifications are a plus
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Degree in Occupational and/or Environmental Health and Safety is a plus
Previous experience conducting safety training or New Hire Orientation is a plus
Local to the New Carlisle, IN area preferred
