What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Estimation Specialist position at Performance Contractors?

We are seeking a Lead Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for generating complete proposals from receipt of RFQ to proposal submittal.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive proposals, including cost, technical, and commercial responses
- Create technical submittals required by clients
- Accurately complete manual takeoffs of civil, concrete, piping, equipment, & steel
- Interpret specifications correctly for material and labor pricing purposes
- Apply Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) elements to estimate as required by clients and as necessary for future use once awarded
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty services for quotes
- Attend pre-bid meetings at client facilities
- Contribute to schedule preparation and analysis, execution plan development, and risk analysis
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant estimating experience
- General knowledge of civil, structural, and/or piping craft scopes of work
- Proficient in piping material and labor quantity takeoff
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Prior experience with Timberline or other estimating software
