Overview
We are seeking an individual to research and develop (to procure) grants for our business entities. We specialize in helping reduce energy costs for those most in need. We are seeking to hire a person that can self manage and determine specific areas of focus of outreach and help us help those that need it the most. Qualified candidates must be self managed / motivated, be able to clearly articulate ideas and present them to our CEO. Maintain a schedule and update the CEO on your progress daily / weekly (in person and VIA video conferencing). The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of fundraising strategies and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in enhancing our organization's capacity to achieve its mission through successful grant acquisition.
Duties
- Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources.
- Write compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate the organization's mission, goals, and the impact of proposed projects.
- Edit and refine proposals to ensure clarity, coherence, and alignment with funder requirements.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines and ensuring timely submissions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders to foster ongoing support.
- Assist in strategic planning related to funding initiatives and program development.
- Utilize tools such as Raiser Edge for tracking fundraising efforts and managing donor relationships.
- Conduct contract management tasks related to awarded grants.
Experience
- Proven experience in proposal writing and grant management is essential.
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices.
- Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience in program development and strategic planning is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in editing written materials for clarity and impact.
- Knowledge of contract management processes is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
