About the Role:
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a self-starter with the ability to handle high-stress situations, work long hours, and maintain a positive attitude. You will assist the Veterinarian with appointments (including pre-purchases and emergencies), administer treatments, manage follow-up care, update patient records, and communicate effectively with clients. This role also involves maintaining a clean and organized environment, creating health certificates and Coggins, sending estimates, and providing top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate is committed to personal, professional, and financial growth and will participate in business management training.
Responsibilities:
- Update client and patient records.
- Administer treatments to horses boarding for rehabilitation and post-surgical care.
- Assist the Veterinarian with appointments, pre-purchases, and emergency calls.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Collaborate with Veterinarians on health certificates and Coggins.
- Prepare and send estimates, and follow up with clients.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing client questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Complete business management training.
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices.
- Mentor interns and students.
- Represent the company at events (e.g., horse shows, races, charity events).
Qualifications:
- Equine Veterinary Technician training.
- Excellent communication skills (both with clients and staff).
- Fundamental horse knowledge and handling skills.
- Experience with large animal radiography (required).
- High school diploma (required).
- 1-2 years of previous equine technician experience (preferred).
- Bilingual (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work extended periods with horses.
- Potential for travel to horse shows and sales.
- Ability to work 40-50 hours per week.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $40,000 - $50,000
