What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Accounting Coordinator position at Performance Food Group?
The Sr. Tax Coordinator will be responsible for general administrative and support services to the Tax team, as well as tax specific duties which include preparing and filing basic tax returns, performing various analyses, processing and mailing tax returns, correspondence, and other duties as assigned. This also includes composing internal and external correspondence, communicating with the general ledger and treasury teams, and monitoring the department's office supplies and placing orders. Overall, this role will assist with facilitating day to day processes within the office, which includes working independently, as well as with others on projects as needed.
Prepare and file various compliance filings: sales tax and other license registrations, egg and dairy compliance reporting, local sales tax filings, etc
Support the sales tax compliance process, assisting with scanning, printing, copying, faxing, coordinating meetings, handling mail, and other ad hoc administrative tasks.
Daily monitoring, updating, and maintaining of the Tax Department’s Due Date List.
Tax return processing in accordance with internal procedures and timely filing of all hard copy filings with strict adherence to internal and statutory deadlines.
Interact with taxing jurisdictions to resolve notices, changes of address, and other ad hoc issues.
Keep license database current at all times.
Identify unclaimed property refund opportunities and submit refund claims. This includes searching online for refund opportunities, downloading the required claim forms, gathering the necessary supporting documentation, tracking filings, and periodically following up on outstanding claims.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- 3 years in an administrative capacity, with tax or accounting operations preferred.
- Two-year degree, preferably in Accounting.
- Excellent phone etiquette with a customer service attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
- Ability to handle strict regulatory deadlines and work in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail with precise follow-through.
- Must be organized and able to work independently.
- Remain calm under pressure with a common sense and flexible approach to situations.
- Basic understanding of accounting preferred.
