Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of medium to heavy-duty trucks by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment.
This role involves inspecting essential components, diagnosing issues, and documenting maintenance activities while promoting a culture of safety and support within the workplace.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
- Repair and replace onboard computers, and complete thorough documentation for work orders through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment.
- Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'.
- Train/provide guidance to other Mechanics.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and experience in refrigeration.
