About the Role:
\We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units.
\The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engine repair and maintenance, as well as excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. You will work closely with our fleet operations team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and meets safety and compliance standards.
\Main Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections \
- Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other systems \
- Inspect and maintain refrigeration units to ensure proper function \
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules \
- Train and mentor junior technicians to improve their skills and knowledge \
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. diesel mechanics, automotive technology) or equivalent experience \
- 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance \
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance principles \
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills \
- Certifications: CDL Class A/B or equivalent preferred \
