Role Summary
The Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on the company's fleet of medium to heavy-duty diesel vehicles to ensure safety compliance standards are met.
This position is ideal for a skilled mechanic with 3-5 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
- Ensuring equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'.
- Completing thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Installs, replaces, and repairs onboard computers.
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts.
