Job Description
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments, as well as have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Repairing and maintaining diesel equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance standards are met
- Performing preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies
- Completing thorough documentation for work orders through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
- Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computers
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper operating condition
- Trains/provides guidance to other Mechanics
