A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants and other experts builds close relationships with each customer, providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection and operational strategies. The Performance Foodservice team delivers delicious food, but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.

Position Purpose:

The National Account Representative serves as the primary point of contact for our National Account customers, and is responsible for building and maintaining a positive and proactive relationship. The position ensures compliance and support for new item and customer set up, promotional tracking, day-to-day operational requirement, and special requests are all processed and managed effectively and appropriately to best serve the company. It also provides exceptional customer service by quickly resolving issues through proactive and frequent communicaiton, including occasional site visits.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Generates additional business through analyzing individual customers; samples products with existing and potential customers; plans general sales strategy including time and territory management; plans sales approach with individual customers; and conducts effective sale presentations.
  • Grows sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis.
  • Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing; works with Credit Department for initial authorization; and other center personnel for scheduling of order-taking, deliveries, etc. Performs initial follow-up work with customer ensuring delivery and products are satisfactory.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service by working closely with other center personnel to coordinate efforts to prevent and resolve customer problems. May be personally responsible for making deliveries in emergency situations.
  • Builds additional business with current customers by selling them on additional products in order to maximize profitability of individual accounts.
  • Minimizes accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and follows-up on any problems
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within sales territory, particularly for products, to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1-2 Years of Excel, food service industry sales experience or related area, customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Business Management, sales/marketing or related area.

2-4 Years of Foodservice industry sales experience.

Salary : $44,700 - $56,600
