What you can expect as our Duplication & Shipping Technician:
As our Duplication & Shipping Technician in the Circulation Services Section of the Braille & Talking Book Library, you will be responsible for performing various duties related to the production, shipment, receipt, storage, shelving, maintenance and delivery of audio and braille books and magazines in the Library’s circulating collections.
We’d love to talk with you if you have many of the following:
- Create and prepare materials for mailing to patrons, assist with bulk mailings, packaging and posting
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and returned materials
- Inspect digital books to ensure quality
- Assist with inventory management
- Alphabetize and number quickly and accurately, ability to shelve books by number
- Ensure stack and shipping areas are secure
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or certificate of equivalency
- Six months stockroom/warehouse experience preferred.
- Computer literate - ability to learn to operate the Library’s computerized circulation and inventory management systems as well as other systems
- Previous experience with audio books, library settings, or inventory control, preferred
- Ability to shift and carry bulky materials weighing up to 50 lbs and climb stairs
