Job Summary:
The Human Resource and Procurement Manager leads all Human Resource functions (including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compliance and employee relations) and procurement for externally sourced goods and provides support to the Plant Manager and Customer Service department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Oversees and manages hiring process, including eligibility verification, background screening, pre-employment physical and drug screening administration, benefit implementation and administration etc.
- Ensures compliance with labor laws
- Performs all payroll related tasks, including bonus calculations and communication thereof (letters and postings)
- Manages performance review process, including preparation and follow ups
- Manages job postings, candidate resume reviews and interviewing process
- Holds safety officer role, responsible for managing safety training, plant inspections and OSHA compliance monitoring
- Procurement of local and international goods for operations (excluding materials sourced from other Perlen sites) via SAP
- Manages approved supplier lists, vendor evaluations and vendor agreements/contracts
- Performs monthly and annual inventory counts and communication thereof
- Supports customer service (assigned accounts) and substitution of CS during vacation / absences
- Supports VP/Plant Manager with administrative tasks such as monthly reports, intercompany communications, meeting minutes etc.
Education and Experience:
- AS/BS degree in business administration, human resource management or psychology is preferred
- HR professional certification is a plus
- Several years of experience in a human resource capacity
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
- ADP TotalSource experience is a plus
- SAP S/4HANA experience is a plus
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills—ability to connect with employees at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and a strategic mindset, high degree of personal integrity required
- Ability to work independently and have initiative, with a proactive work ethic
