POSITION SUMMARY / JOB PURPOSE :
The Director of InformationTechnology empowers PermiaCare staff to do their work well by providingtechnology, reports, training and support. In addition to being the Center'sprimary source of knowledge for the EHR, the Director of Information Technologysupervises the IT team and provides project management for major ITinitiatives. Contribution to IT policycreation and prioritization are also required of this position.
This position works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OTHERQUALIFICATIONS :
Education Required : Bachelor's degree in Information Technologyor other related field
Experience Required : At least 4years of software development and report writing experience. At least 2 yearsof experience as a supervisor. At least2 years of experience in IT for a healthcare organization. Demonstratedcompetency in SQL query development and debugging.
Registration, Certification,Licensure or other Qualifications Required :
- Must maintain a valid TexasDriver's license, auto liability insurance and a driving record acceptable toPermiaCare's insurance requirements.
- Required to pass criminal historyand background checks as well as pre-employment drug screen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES :
Create custom reports, list pagesand screens in the EHR system.Provide technical support andproblem resolution to clinical and billing staff. Works with the vendor supportstaff to solve problems with the EHR system.Monitor the Encounter and StateData batches, distribute error reports and assist supervisors with corrections.Supervise IT staff in theperformance of their duties.Manage major IT projects.Develop and maintains customdatabases and applications.Create and maintains IT policiesand procedures.Create and maintain configurationtables in EHR as needed.Assist the Chief InformationOfficer with setting priorities, budgets, and goals for the IT Department.Meet unit performance measures ortargets.Maintain confidentiality ofsensitive records and treatment information, client files and protected healthinformation in compliance with HIPAA, laws, rules and regulations, andestablished procedures.Maintain regular and reliablephysical on-site attendance. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptnessare required for the scheduled workday 100% of the time, to ensure consistencyand completeness of program's processes.Comply with the Abuse, Neglect,and Exploitation policy and reporting requirements.Adhere to the Code of Conduct andStandards of Behavior policy requirements.Establish and maintain effectivework relationships with individuals served and their families, supervisors,co-workers and visitors by demonstrating cooperative, courteous and respectfulbehavior at all times.Communicate regularly withsupervisor.Open and process mail / email in atimely manner.Answer , collect messages and respond to requests timely and accurately.Maintain safe and clean workingenvironment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.Perform all work functions andinteractions using a trauma informed approach.Display professionalism whenrepresenting PermiaCare and the program in the community.Maintain compliance with legalrequirements and company policies and procedures.Maintain valid and currentdriver's license, auto insurance, acceptable driving record and reliabletransportation at all times. Driving may be required for this position.Complete all training as assignedprior to due date.Plan, organize, assign, supervise,review, and evaluate the work of assigned employees.Participate in the hiring processand termination process of assigned employees, including recommending selectionof staff to hire.Complete employee correctiveactions as needed and in a timely manner.Communicate regularly withassigned employees.Ensure compliance for performanceevaluations for assigned employees.Perform approval of timesheets ontime.Develop, implement, and monitornew and revised operational policies and work procedures.Coordinate with Human Resources torespond to employee concerns or complaints.Establish expectations and provideemployee performance feedback on an on-going basis, including ensuringunderstanding of performance targets and goals.Provide orientation and on-goingtraining, mentoring, and coaching to assigned employees.Maintain quality and quantity ofwork performed within work unit.Fill in for subordinates whenneeded to ensure coverage.Assist in resolving emergencies.Identify and resolve workplaceproblems.Ensure direct reports are aware ofadhere to PC policies and procedures.Ensure time is reported accurately.Other duties as assignedMARGINAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES (these duties are not designated as essential for the purposesof ADA; they are still required duties) :
