What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Geologist position at Permian Resources?
Permian Resources Corporation (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an Asset Geologist in Midland, TX. Reporting to the Asset Geoscience Manager, the Asset Geologist will provide geological support to the asset teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical as well as communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
General Responsibilities
- Integrated member of the development team having a close working relationship with the project geophysicist, operation geologists, reservoir engineers and geotechnical staff along with all other technical and corporate groups
- Responsible for advanced mapping, log analysis, play fairway analysis, core analysis, integration of seismic, operations, and public data into the reservoir model and geologic understanding of the assets
- Participate in near- to long-term development planning, provide recommendations for operated and non-operated well proposals, and support evaluations of potential opportunities for leasing, purchasing land, and trades
- Make recommendations based on integrated maps, cross sections, and other geological displays
- Work with a team of Geologists, Reservoir and Geoscience Specialists to integrate data sets including reservoir behavior and well performance
- Ability to deliver technical presentations and present projects to management in a timely manner
- Assist in mentoring and on-the-job training of less experienced team members
- Actively participate and manage data acquisition, interpretation, and application
- Requires coordination between multiple departments
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geology preferred
- Minimum 6 years’ oil and gas experience required
- Technical and operational background in unconventional resource plays, preferably in the Delaware Basin
- Experience in early life development of unconventional properties and multi-rig development programs
- Strong skills in Petra and/or Kingdom required (or similar integrated geoscience platform)
- Experience creating and presenting technical review at a team and corporate level
