General Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and training (as required) to end users to ensure smooth adoption and utilization of applications while ensuring stability of systems.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis of issues and implement effective resolutions.
- Work closely with vendor(s) to log software defects, enhancement requests, upgrade/hot fix testing and deployments.
- Establish and monitor support metrics and usage data for E&P applications to identify trends, drive process improvements and ensure alignment with business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure adherence to change management policies and procedures, including documenting, reviewing and implementing system changes in compliance with established controls.
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues to prevent disruptions.
- Work in tandem with IT’s Infrastructure team to ensure seamless application installations and upgrades.
- Maintain back-end system configuration and implement updates to support business processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of application support policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent experience
- Prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically supporting applications
- 3 years of related work experience in software/application support
- Specific knowledge of applications such as WellView, SiteView, IFS Merrick (ProCount, Carte, Field Operator), Intelex, ComboCurve, Aries or RodStar a plus
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in SQL
- Spotfire and/or PowerBI experience
