Perricone Farms is seeking a Business Development Manager for the South Florida Region (West Palm, Miami, Ft. Pierce). Summary:
The Business Development Manager (South Florida Region) will be primarily responsible for expanding sales and distribution within the food service and retail sectors, with a focus on key markets including West Palm, Miami and Ft. Pierce. The ideal candidate will be based in the Southeast Region to effectively manage and serve the customer base in this area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing a monthly expense budget
- Responsible for weekly and monthly business reviews
- Grow sales in conjunction with company's sales and marketing team's vision and goals.
- Call on independent foodservice and retail accounts with, & without, distributor sales reps to increase sales and brand awareness.
- Call on national foodservice and retail accounts-growing customer base and SKU count with existing customers.
- Anticipate trends and opportunities and communicate those findings with distributors and Perricone's internal team.
- Manage foodservice distributors and coordinate pricing, goals, and points of distribution across their territory.
- Communicate and manages sales within all layers of distributor's management team (Executive, Procurement, Sales, and Quality).
- Identify new business opportunities, including key accounts, partnerships, events and promotions.
- Assist with development and execution of sales programs and marketing promotions. Present and clearly communicate programs to distributor sales teams.
- Help develop strategic and tactical plans for achieving sales and profitability goals. Anticipate trends, develop forecasts and budgets, and offer strategic plan for expanding sales and distribution.
- Provide accurate and timely information necessary to improve business, including pricing, promotions, sales trends and other competitive activity as well as a reasonable action plan.
- Provide leadership team with regular reports such as sales by market, key account performance, market work results, and weekly project updates.
Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
Organizational Relationships:
- Position reports to Regional Sales Manager.
Qualifications:
- Location - South Florida Region (West Palm, Miami, Ft. Pierce); preferably on the east coast.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales with distributor or consumer products; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid grasp of sales metrics, performance measures, and technical indicators.
- Able to meet fixed deadlines
- Demonstrable and proven work experience as account manager and in negotiating/meeting clients' requirements.
- Strong Communication Skills and a strong client-focused mindset.
- Must be available to travel as needed; we are looking for someone based in the South Florida Region, ideally near a major airport. This role requires travel (around 50% of the time) and willingness to work weekends and nights. Depending on the location of active projects, client prospects, conferences, networking events, and office visits.
