Scope of the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Area Lead will be responsible for supporting Perrigo Work System initiatives to drive continuous improvements to the production lines. This position is responsible for leading daily handoffs, daily stretches and ensuring daily housekeeping and safety activities are completed. The Area Lead may also be responsible for assisting the Set-up Techs during changeovers and troubleshoot machinery as needed. This position will be responsible for SOP and cGMP compliance, training, and providing direction to employees to resolve production problems. The Area Lead will be required to work with various support functions (i.e. Quality, Validation, Maintenance, etc.). The position may be required to be active in one or more initiatives related to: quality, safety, productivity, cost, OEE, and on time delivery. Furthermore, the incumbent will oversee the daily organization of the production process from tracking efficiency to aligning break times and run times. Area lead will be expected to foster an environment where continuous improvement can thrive.
Experience Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math and reading/comprehension skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft and SAP preferred in addition to basic computer skills; point & click, ability to navigate through computer-based training systems.
- Must be able to: stand for length of shift, with breaks every 2 hours (85% of the total shift), lift 10 lbs continuously, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally; ascent and descent stepladders up to 7 steps high; push and pull handcarts, skids, and drums weighting up to 220 lbs; stoop or bend to adjust machines and clean the work area; reach laterally, and overhead occasionally; grasp, move and adjust objects; work a minimum of 40 hours per week; see, hear and understand signs, labels, and instructions; work at each station on the packaging line and maintain the pace.

- Candidates have demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills and good communication skills.
- A strong ability to problem solve, multitask and motivate with minimal supervision. Other skills include multi-tasking, record keeping, using tools, and encouraging change, trainer certification may be required in some areas.
- Previous production knowledge and training experience preferred.
