Description Overview
We're looking for a candidate to join our Preventative Maintenance Apprenticeship in Grand Rapids, MI at our Perrigo Oral Care Plant. Perrigo will cover the cost of the Apprenticeship program and in this role, there is also the potential to move into a Machine Repair Apprenticeship.
This role will be based on 3rd shift upon completion and will require flexing time on 1st and 2nd shift to learn and gain experience with our team.
Scope of the Role
- Largely responsible for executing preventive and predictive maintenance activities of all equipment within the scope of responsibility, troubleshooting and repair of this equipment, and assisting with tasks which go above the scope of preventive and/or predictive maintenance activities.
- Executing, scheduling, and monitoring of Preventive Maintenance programs
- Completion of PM and service-related documentation
- Troubleshooting and repair
- Assisting in rebuilds
- Assisting with retrofit, rebuild, upgrade, automation, and machine building projects
- Routine inspections, identifying potential problems before they occur
- Troubleshooting equipment, machinery, or processes to identify the source of tthe issue
- Perform routine cleanings, replacing of parts and minor repairs
- Interfacing with other technicians across all three shifts in a team environment.
- Coordinating with scheduling or production leads to accommodate for machine downtime.
- Performing machinery inspections for safe operation
Experience Required
- Cell Preventive Maintenance Technicians must have thorough working knowledge including primary mechanical, electrical, machine controls
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions in English, such as safety, quality, and GMP guidelines
- Support effective implementation of all GMP requirements and understand how it affect products/processes supported and/or owned.
- 1-2 years of mechanical experience
