General Position Summary:
The Radiology Manger is responsible for the administrative and technical direction for the Medical Imaging Department and will work report to the Imagining Director. To provide coordination of the technical, administrative, and financial activities and personnel of the Medical Imagining Department to include all modalities. Exercise professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Monitors department operations to assure compliance with governmental and other regulatory agencies and meets standards set by those regulators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff in operation of the imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, or MRI equipment.
- Evaluates accuracy and quality of images.
- Provides technical assistance to the staff.
- Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff.
- Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements plan, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing.
- Assists the planning and purchasing of imaging equipment.
- Considered a working manager and will need to assist in patient care.
- Works closely with local providers to exceed their needs by having a results-oriented approach.
- Works closely with other departments to provide needed services, timely and effectively with good customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Demonstrate organizational ability to maintain and coordinate multiple forms and paper documentation related to patient care.
- Ability to multi-task and consistently communicate in a professional manner
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Detail oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
- Ability to remain calm in a fast paced, at times stressful environment
- Computer proficiency
- Upper level typing/computer skills and proficiency
Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- Associates Degree or higher
- Current CPR certification or successful completion of Basic Life Support within 60 days of employment.
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiology Technology
- Desirable characteristics include at least 8 years of Radiology experience in hospital related field.
- At least 2 years of Radiology management experience preferred, not required.
