Work schedule: Full-time, M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm plus additional hours as required
Travel: Frequent local/regional travel required; occasional longer distance possible
Starting Salary Range: $46,000 – $54,000 commensurate with experience
Additional Benefits: 9 paid holidays per year; Paid Time Off (PTO) based on longevity with 13 days/year in first year.

Position Description
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for advancing PCCA’s mission, and is responsible for ensuring their duties are accomplished in a superlative, timely, effective, moral, and professional manner. The Executive Director’s actions and demeanor ensure PCCA builds a justifiable reputation for competent and passionate leadership, thoughtful development of its stakeholders, consistent quality of finance and administration, programmatic excellence and commitment to stronger local and regional communities.
Primary Duties
- Lead PCCA in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission by working closely, and communicating effectively, with the Board of Directors to seek their engagement in strategic planning, policy decisions, fundraising efforts, and increasing the PCCA’s overall visibility in the community.
- Supervise, direct, support, and productively collaborate with staff to implement creative arts programs and successfully execute PCCA’s activities and events.
- Work with the Board and staff to develop and implement effective strategic plans that allow PCCA to fulfill its mission into the future.
- Develop an annual Plan of Objectives and Tasks, consistent with PCCA’s Strategic Plan, that identifies PCCA’s priorities for the year, particularly those related to its core programs.
- Actively promote the integral role that the PCCA Gallery plays as the face of the organization and further PCCA’s mission by supporting Gallery staff, artists, and gallery events.
- Plan, create, and implement an effective annual budget, accurately report budget/financial information to the Board, operate within the approved budget to ensure maximum resource utilization, maintain a positive financial position, and ensure all financial matters are accurate and in compliance with legal and accounting standards.
- Serve as primary spokesperson for PCCA by being active and visible in the community and by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with various organizations, volunteers, the media, and the general public.
- Actively engage in fundraising, marketing, communication efforts, and developing new revenue sources to support the PCCA’s mission.
- Hire, retain, and guide qualified, competent staff and establish employment and workplace policies/procedures for all functions and for the day-day operation of PCCA.
- Oversee and administer all organizational programs, resources, and maintenance of PCCA’s facilities and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a discipline directly related to PCCA’s mission and programs; and five years of management experience in a non-profit organization. Extensive experience in a leadership position may be considered as an alternative to a bachelor’s degree.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
- Experience and skill working with a Governance Board
- High integrity, a strong work ethic, and a transparent leadership style that inspires/motivates staff and volunteers and a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with staff
- Skill in high-level strategic thinking and planning
- Active fundraising experience, excellent donor relations skills, an understanding of the funding community, and a history of successfully generating new revenue streams
- Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies, and volunteers
- Strong organizational, technical, and financial management skills, including planning, delegating, program development, budget preparation/analysis, and decision making
- Effective written and oral communication skills, an engaging public speaking style, and the ability to envision and convey PCCA’s mission to the Board, staff, volunteers, and the community
- Ability to traverse between PCCA’s facilities.
- Ability to perform general office tasks including, but not limited to, moving about inside the buildings, operating a computer and other office machinery, maintaining a stationary position for extended periods, and occasionally moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds around the office
- Satisfactory PA/FBI criminal background check and PA child abuse clearance required
