What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMA position at Perry County Hospital?
Education
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
Must be current in BLS.
Medical Assistant Certification is preferred, but not required.
Must provide copies of education records and certification for personnel records.
Experience
At least three years experience as a phlebotomist and/or medical assistant is preferred
Special Knowledge
Excellent customer relationship skills. Moderate knowledge of medical terminology. Mathematical, verbal, and written skills at the high school level.
Contact Responsibility
Direct contact with patients. Works closely with physicians, physician office personnel, and hospital staff.

Ability to understand instructions, reason, and make judgments. Ability to understand the meaning of words, ideas associated with them, and their effective use. Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately. Ability to understand forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. Ability to perceive pertinent details and objects in pictorial or graphic material. Ability to perceive pertinent details and verbal or tabular material.
Ability to coordinate eyes and hands to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed. Ability to move the fingers and hands easily and skillfully. Ability to move the hand and foot coordinately with each other in accordance with visual stimuli. Ability to perceive similarities and differences in colors. Responsible for lifting, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
