GRAPHIC DESIGN SPECIALIST
This is a full-time, year-round position in the Marketing/Communications Department. This position will report to the Vice President of Enrollment Services & Marketing.
The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for working as an integral part of the marketing and communications team and collaborates in varying capacities on the design of marketing materials that brand and promote the school, both in digital and print delivery formats, working closely with the Creative Content Designer, and taking assigned projects from start to finish. This position collaborates with colleagues throughout the campus departments and administrative offices and creates, implements, integrates, assesses and strengthens—on an ongoing basis—the school’s visual identity and the impact of its visual communications.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed in a business office and school environment. The hours of the position are Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute paid lunch. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment is a must. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs. may be required.
This is a non-exempt, full-time, regular position. Overtime may be required as necessary.
WAGE RANGE: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree, certificate of completion from an accredited career college in a related field, or applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with basic graphic design concepts, layout and editing.
- Experience in photography, including camera set-up, lighting, and composition skills.
- Experience with social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly known as Twitter), Snapchat, YouTube, and LinkedIn).
- Organized with attention to detail.
- If chosen for an interview, will be required to show a portfolio and demonstrate conceptual graphic design and visual media ability across campaign materials.
- Occasionally will be required to drive on behalf of Perry Technical Institute. Employee must possess a working vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and produce proof of insurance.
- Willing to submit to a drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in marketing and graphic design for an educational institution.
- Experience in editing website content.
- Experience in audio and videography production.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Create, promote, and maintain an effective and consistent overall look and feel for the school’s visual communications.
- Perform and complete tasks with accuracy and on time in both individual and team environments.
- Track and complete projects based on marketing software ticket system.
- Perform graphic design duties such as creation and editing of marketing and promotional materials for the school, which includes social media content, banners, brochures, posters, invitations, programs, signage, postcards, templates, mailers, event publicity, advertisements, and other materials, both in print and digital formats.
- Consult with marketing team and revise projects based on collaborative feedback process.
- Assist the marketing team with photo shoots, filming, editing, and producing video for use on multiple platforms.
- Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously.
- Maintain audio and visual equipment.
- Attend required events and training.
- Have good attendance and the ability to work well with others.
- Other duties as assigned.
