Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the financial, contractual, and regulatory aspects of a diverse portfolio of electrical generation assets and a bio-fuel pellet facility.
- Collaborate with plant personnel, corporate teams, partners, service providers, Independent System Operators (ISOs), customers, and consultants to oversee day-to-day operations.
- Support back-end settlement processes for energy and capacity sales, as well as environmental emission transactions.
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Ensure compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards in a management or subject matter expert capacity.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent quantitative analytical experience.
- 5 years managing or operating generation assets within North American ISOs.
- 2 years of experience with NERC compliance in a management role or as a subject matter expert.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Proven ability to develop and manage project budgets.
- Background in energy or fuel markets.
- Understanding of physical and financial electricity, congestion, natural gas, emissions, and market design.
- Familiarity with market rules governing North American physical and financial energy transactions.
- Strong quantitative and analytical background, ideally related to energy and fuel markets.
- Basic knowledge of energy, capacity, and emission markets.
- Robust oral and written communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Familiarity with market design in one or more North American control areas.
