JOB FUNCTION :
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day business operations of the organization, including overseeing operations of the facilities, programs, and general management of the organization. Responsible for overall clinical and crisis management functions for inpatient and community-based programs. Adheres to agency strategic plan, mission, and vision in all matters (financial, clinical, operational, ect).
- Oversees all operational aspects of the organization, ensuring efficient delivery of mental health services, and collaborating with clinical leadership to further the organization’s mission.
- Seeks opportunities to grow agency programs or initiate new programs that fit within the scope of the agency’s vison and mission. Opportunities may be agency focused and / or collaborative efforts with community partners.
- Manages annual operating budget ensuring that agency operates within financial constraints. Ensures financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation.
- Hires and supervises administrative staff for key positions within the agency with an emphasis on program development and efficiency. Maintains a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent.
- Champions continuous improvement efforts. Performs gap analysis and efficacy reviews to identify and implement effective and efficient training in conjunction with leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business and / or Healthcare Administration with five (5) years proven experience in social services. Up-to-date knowledge of the Baker Act, Florida Administrative Rule, and the Marchman Act laws / revisions and other regulatory requirements that pertain to the agency. At least one (1) year experience working within a 24 / 7 crisis setting, with demonstrated ability to think independently and problem solve complex situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical activities including, but not necessarily limited to, lifting, sitting for long periods of time looking at computer screen, ability to move oneself throughout all areas of the Agency property and community meetings / events.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS : Exposure to consumers and all possible program emergencies and conditions; high stress environment, possible irregular and on-call working hours and a variety of work locations as the need arises.
