Job Position
The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, silverware, glassware, and kitchen utensils, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting the kitchen staff in a fast-paced setting. This role requires attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Dishwasher
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or use commercial dishwashing equipment.-
- · Ensure all items are properly sanitized and free of food residue.
- · Return clean dishes and utensils to the appropriate storage areas.
- · Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, counters, and sinks.
- · Clean dishwashing equipment regularly to ensure it operates efficiently.
- · Monitor and manage detergent and cleaning supplies, ensuring that stocks are maintained.
- · Assist in the preparation and organization of cooking utensils and equipment.
- · Help kitchen staff with food prep or clean-up as needed during busy times.
- · Take out the trash and recycling, ensuring that waste is properly sorted and disposed of.
- · Help with organizing and cleaning the garbage area as required.
- · Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- · Report any equipment malfunctions or hazards to management.
Additional Duties
· Assume other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and Cook Manager.
