Job Responsibilities:
- Mails/faxes plans of care and verbal orders, 60-day summaries (when required) and discharge summaries to physicians.
- Maintains a process on the status of physicians’ orders. Monitors unsigned orders and sends second and third requests for signed orders to overdue physicians. Calls the offices of seriously overdue physicians.
- Runs reports to track and follow up on orders not received back from community providers.
- Files/uploads clinical documentation and all appropriate papers in patient’s clinical record.
- Maintains adequate forms inventory for clinical records.
- Informs Quality Reviewers/designee of incomplete patient files/untimely submission of chart materials as necessary.
- Protects all clinical records through the establishment and implementation of control procedures for all open and closed records.
- Protects confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of clinical records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School degree or equivalency.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Effective organization skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- This position typically operates in an office environment.
