Job Opportunity: Donor Relations Specialist (Temporary)
We are seeking a motivated Donor Relations Specialist (DRS) to lead and manage key initiatives for a dynamic nonprofit organization. The DRS will oversee the annual employee fundraising campaign, manage community programs, and support the allocation process. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the fundraising team to secure donations, process donor contributions, and generate related financial reports.
This is a temporary position, offering $19.50/hr, and will last until the end of August.
Schedule:
- Normal work hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
- The candidate must be available to work the weekend of June 28th:
- June 28th: 8 AM – Midnight
- June 29th: 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Donor Relations Specialist Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the annual employee fundraising campaign.
- Manage community-based initiatives such as HeartSafe.
- Process and acknowledge monetary and in-kind donations.
- Support stewardship activities (thank you cards, calls, letters, etc.).
- Oversee grant allocations and the Foundation’s grant process.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the donor database, ensuring data integrity.
- Coordinate accounting processes and support audits and financial reporting.
- Assist with special event logistics and solicit in-kind donations.
- Manage department operations, including supply ordering, meeting room reservations, and catering confirmations.
Donor Relations Specialist Qualifications:
- 2 years in nonprofit, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Associate degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Donor Relations Specialist Skills:
- Experience with Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge, NXT) or similar donor management platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of confidentiality and strong time management skills.
- Flexibility for evening or weekend work as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Donor Relations Specialist Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years in nonprofit, marketing, or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
