Urgent Care Veterinary Technician / Assistant

Location: Bay St Louis, MS, 39520

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Urgent Care Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The technician will work closely with the veterinarian to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, including trauma, respiratory distress, and other urgent medical needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
• Perform routine procedures such as blood draws, catheter placement, and administering medications
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals
• Assist with radiographs and ultrasounds
• Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining the clinic
• Answer phones and schedule appointments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons, weekends, and holidays
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in an urgent care or emergency veterinary setting.
• Strong attention to detail
