What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Boarding Technician 221 Cannon Drive position at Pet Palace?
Pet Palace is looking for caring individuals to work at our professional pet boarding/daycare/grooming facility at 221 Cannon drive. Responsibilities: Kennel assistants are responsible for the day-to-day care of our boarding animals. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, and monitoring the well-being of dogs, in our care. Kennel Techs must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. It is essential that they have the ability and willingness to learn and desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarding animals.
General Knowledge • Know the range of services the practice provides and the breeds
• Be reasonably familiar with breeds and coat colors of dogs
• Know and learn simple standard kennel medical and business terminology
• Be familiar with or willing to learn infectious diseases, including their prevention and steps to reduce or eliminate transmission.
Requirements:
* Animal lover
* Responsible and reliable
* Ability to handle difficult dogs in a calm professional manner with patience and kindness.
* Maintain a clean and orderly work area and have a neat and professional appearance.
* Ability to manage play groups of up to 10-15 dogs
* Ability to manage time effectively
* Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
* Dependable transportation and phone
* Punctual
*This is a partially outdoor position so must love being outside in all weather.
Pay: $10 - $12/hour
