This role will support our finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will have experience with Acumatica, solid Excel skills, and be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Petalfast, a leading national sales, marketing, and distribution platform for the cannabis industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant. This role will support our finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will have experience with Acumatica, solid Excel skills, and be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare and analyze basic financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations.
- Prepare and enter invoices, process payments, and maintain vendor records.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely billing and payment.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Utilize Acumatica to input data and generate financial reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with audits by preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance documentation.
- Support the VP of Finance with various ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in the cannabis industry preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Acumatica is highly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
