JOB DESCRIPTION

Petalfast, a leading national sales, marketing, and distribution platform for the cannabis industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant. This role will support our finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will have experience with Acumatica, solid Excel skills, and be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze basic financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations.
• Prepare and enter invoices, process payments, and maintain vendor records.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely billing and payment.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Utilize Acumatica to input data and generate financial reports.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with audits by preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance documentation.
• Support the VP of Finance with various ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the cannabis industry preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency in Acumatica is highly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including data analysis tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The pay for this position is $70,000.
