Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example and set high standards for patient care and customer service.
- Mentor and coach junior staff members to help them develop their skills and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- 1-3 years minimum of clinical veterinary experience.
- Experience mentoring and coaching veterinarians preferred.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
- Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License (if applicable).
- USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
Benefits
Petco offers a competitive salary range of $79,170.00 - $169,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted in the Vetco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary), and standing for long periods of time.
