Position Summary:

Pete’s Fresh Market (PFM) is a family owned and operated supermarket and one of the leading independent grocers in the greater Chicagoland area. With 17 established locations and more on the way, PFM is looking to bring on motivated and knowledgeable leaders to the Pete's Team. The Warehouse Manager will be in charge of direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. This individual will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Ultimately, this person should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate Pete’s Market Four Pillars: Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Service.

Essential Functions and Duties:

· Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations

· Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision

· Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization

· Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures

· Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements

· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security

· Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system

· Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols

· Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies

· Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees

· Work closely with buying and leadership team to ensure goals are set and met

· Produce reports and statistics regularly   

· Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

· Fulfill all other duties as assigned within the scope of the job

Education, Certifications, and Qualifications:

· BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration preferred but not required

· Minimum 3 years of experience

· Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices

· Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

· Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Excellent fluency with the English language; fluent in Spanish language is a plus

· Self-motivated and ambitious

· Demonstrate leadership skills 

· Ability to wear “many hats” and be flexible

· Strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to resolve complex issues in creative ways

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the business needs

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequent use of hands for squeezing motion, bending and twisting wrists, standing in one location, walking, turning, reaching, stooping/bending, squatting, lifting/carrying objects 5 to 40 lbs., pushing/pulling up objects., hand to eye coordination; occasional lifting objects over 40 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping and crawling. May be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments.
