The Petersen Automotive Museum exists to educate and build passion around the automobile. While maintaining a global reach the Petersen Automotive Museum continuously studies the crucial role that Los Angeles and California as a whole has played in the development of the automobile and its establishment as a cultural artifact; to ensure that the Petersen continues to become the center for automotive thought by presenting mobility's past, present, and future.
The Gallery Interpreter will interact with visitors in the museum galleries by answering questions about the museum collection and providing directions. The attendant will also monitor the galleries, ensuring the collection is kept safe and that visitors follow museum policies and safety protocols. The attendants foster a welcoming environment for volunteers and the public. They provide customer service support, are knowledgeable about museum content, and maintain daily gallery operations and appearance.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Providing assistance to visitors and answering questions about the museum collection
Maintain crowd control during peak hours
Providing direction and guidance to visitors concerning other galleries
Ensuring that objects and resources are handled carefully and safely
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Ability to interact with guests and visitors
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge pertaining to the museum collection
The pay range for this role is :
